Guest Experiences
Partnering with Vincent meant I could be fully present for my guests. He handled anchorages, dinners ashore, the chef, the schedule — every moving part of the week. I just had to teach. After the first morning I stopped worrying about anything that wasn’t my program.

Captain Vincent holds a sacred space where people can feel safe, seen, and completely free to be themselves. That’s rare. Calm, steady, and full of heart from the moment we stepped on board.

Sardinia week, Aug 2025 · TripAdvisor
All activities are optional and just knowing you have that option and not being pressured was gold for me. Vincent is an absolute gem — so experienced, calm, big heart, fantastic sense of humor. He works harder than anybody but makes it seem effortless.

Sardinia week, Oct 2025 · TripAdvisor
Cannot praise Vincent’s meticulous planning of anchoring spots enough. The infectious smile and charismatic personality of the captain and crew made every day of the BVI week better than the last. I hope to sail with Vincent at the helm again.

Every week includes moments that go beyond the boat — handpicked by Vincent from years of sailing these waters. Here’s a taste.
Capo d’Orso, Sardinia
A clifftop spa your guests can retreat to mid-week. Seawater pools, salt scrubs, silence — the afternoon off from your program that puts everyone back in their body.
Bonifacio, Corsica
A private tasting at Domaine Zuria, a family-run vineyard above the sea. A polished mid-week evening for your group — you arrive, they pour, no logistics on your plate.
Cleopatra Bay, Turkey
Your guests roll out gozleme with a Turkish grandmother, then eat what they made together under the pine trees. Three hours, one rustic outdoor kitchen, and one of the moments they’ll describe first when they get home.
Stromboli, Aeolian Islands
Stromboli erupting against a pink sky as your group summits together. The shared-awe moment every retreat leader hopes for — one of those evenings nobody forgets.
Ölüdeniz, Turkey
For retreats that want one visceral moment. Tandem flights off Babadağ — 20 minutes of silence, one story every guest will tell for years.
Three boats. Built for different group sizes, all curated for the same experience.

You teach. I host.
The questions retreat leaders usually ask before their first week with me.
Most leaders fill their boat, but not always on the first try. If you’ve sold 6 of 8 cabins by our commitment date, we have options: keep the Lagoon 46 and run with a smaller group (still profitable), downsize logistics, or open the remaining spots to my own audience on your terms. We figure it out together — I’d rather run a retreat that breathes than one that scrambles.
Travel insurance is required for every guest, which covers most last-minute cancellations on their end. On ours, the deposit schedule means once you’ve committed and paid your deposits, the boat is yours regardless of guest flux. Your own cancellation terms with guests are yours to set — I’ll share the template I use so you don’t have to write one from scratch.
A 25% deposit secures the yacht and dates. A second 25% is due around 30 days before the charter, and the balance 28 days out. Payment by Wise or bank transfer (preferred) — Stripe is available with a surcharge. Deposits are non-refundable once paid, which is why we plan carefully before that first payment. Travel insurance covers the guest side; we recommend World Nomads.
Yes — many leaders travel with a co-teacher or movement specialist. Your co-lead sails at cost (usually priced into your per-guest rate). The on-board chef is part of the boat package; bringing your own chef isn’t a setup I’d recommend, because our chef knows the galley, the suppliers, and the rhythm of a week at sea.
The Mediterranean is forgiving most of the season, but I always build flexibility into the route. If a mistral blows through, we shift the plan — tuck into a protected bay, swap the open crossing for an island walk, re-anchor somewhere quieter. I’ve done this for years; guests barely notice. Safety always wins. We never push through weather I wouldn’t sail myself.
Usually yes. Catamarans are very stable — much calmer than monohulls — and most of our routes hop between protected bays rather than crossing open sea for hours. For guests who are nervous, I plan shorter legs on day one and build up gradually. Over-the-counter options (Dramamine, wristbands) help for anyone sensitive. In four seasons I’ve had very few guests truly struggle.
I’m Vincent Braakman. I’ve been hosting curated sailing retreats across the Mediterranean since 2022 — working with yoga teachers, wellness coaches, and retreat leaders who want to offer their community a week their guests still talk about.
I’m on every trip. When you partner with me, you’re not booking a charter company — you’re collaborating with someone who cares about the experience as much as you do.

Running a retreat of 20+ guests? A 2- or 3-boat flotilla keeps everyone on one itinerary — same anchorages, same sunsets.
