Why Sardinia & Corsica

Sardinia and Corsica hold the most dramatic sailing in the Mediterranean. Our route runs from Marina di Olbia through the Maddalena archipelago — a UNESCO-protected national park of seven granite islands and water you have to see to believe — across the Strait of Bonifacio to the Lavezzi Islands and the cliff-top citadel of Bonifacio in Corsica.

Sardinia is one of the world’s five Blue Zones. Every meal on board reflects that: pane carasau, fresh fish, malloreddus, ingredients from the farms and fishermen we know by name. The Maddalena’s water is often empty, often turquoise, often both at once.

From the Captain’s Seat

The Strait of Bonifacio in the afternoon light — that crossing never gets old. One moment you’re in Italy, the next you’re somewhere that feels older and completely different. That’s the thing about this route: it has a rhythm that builds across the week.

The Journey

A Week at Sea

Each week adapts to your group, the wind, and what feels right. Here’s the rhythm we tend to follow.

Day 1 photo
Day 1

Olbia → first anchor

You land in Olbia, ten minutes from Marina di Olbia. Welcome aboard, into your cabin, a glass of something cold on deck. We sail a short hop to a quiet anchor for the first night — Tavolara if the wind agrees, somewhere closer if it doesn’t. The chef opens with dinner at anchor — Blue Zone cooking, line-caught fish, herbs from a Sardinian working kitchen.

Day 2

Tavolara & Costa Smeralda

Tavolara is a micro-nation. One osteria, a goat or two, a fortress of white limestone rising 500 metres straight from the sea. A short paddle in before sunrise, a slow practice on the sand, breakfast back on the foredeck. Then we sail north into the Costa Smeralda. Lunch at Liscia di Vacca, dinner ashore at a waterfront restaurant in Cannigione — or Porto Cervo if you want the buzz.

Day 3

Capo d’Orso & the Maddalena

Morning at Capo d’Orso for the saltwater Thalasso pools — granite-walled, fed by the sea, paired with a treatment if you want one. Lunch at the resort. Afternoon into the Maddalena: granite islands, water that turns turquoise the moment the sun hits it, an anchorage at Spargi or Cala Granara.

Day 4

Crossing to Corsica → Bonifacio

The Strait of Bonifacio crossing — two to three hours, the most photogenic on the route. Layered limestone cliffs come into view, then the citadel above them. Ninety minutes through the citadel on foot with a local guide, or an afternoon at a family-run vineyard above the sea — Corsican wines, cheese and charcuterie at the cellar table. Dinner up in the Haute Ville.

Day 5

Lavezzi & Île Piana

South of Corsica, the Lavezzi reserve — granite outcrops, a lagoon you can swim across, the best snorkelling on the route. Lunch on board. A second swim at Île Piana before we head back across the strait toward Maddalena marina for the night. Dinner at an osteria on the waterfront.

Day 6

Spargi → Caprera

We work through the islands — a swim at Budelli, a paddle around Santa Maria — then anchor at Caprera bay for the farewell. The chef cooks on board: fish, a Sardinian salad, the wine you’ve come to recognise. Sunset turns the granite pink.

Day 7

Caprera → Olbia

A guided hike on Caprera — old Garibaldi house, viewpoints, fifteen minutes to the best one. Final breakfast on the foredeck. We sail south down Sardinia’s coast, last swim, into Olbia for the late afternoon. Stay on for a night in town if you’ve got the time — the old quarter is worth it.

Final route depends on weather and your group. Every week we sail this is different.

A Few Things to Know

How much does a private catamaran charter in Sardinia cost?
A private crewed Lagoon 46 catamaran charter in Sardinia and Corsica with Sailing 2 Wellness starts from €19,000 per week for up to 8 guests — around €2,375 per person for a full group. The price includes a professional skipper, an onboard chef, daily breakfast and lunch, fuel, marina fees, and water toys. Larger boats: Bali 5.4 from €25,000 and Bali 5.8 from €32,000 for groups up to 12.
Can we customize the route?
Yes — every private charter is fully flexible. The 7-day route from Marina di Olbia through Tavolara, the Maddalena UNESCO archipelago, Bonifacio in Corsica, and the Lavezzi Islands is the spine — but we adapt every week to your group, the wind, and what feels right. Vincent plans the itinerary with you in advance and adjusts on the day.
How many guests fit on each boat?
The Lagoon 46 sleeps up to 8 in 4 ensuite double cabins. The Bali 5.4 sleeps up to 12 in 6 cabins (4 doubles + a twin + a bunk). The Bali 5.8 sleeps up to 12 in 6 cabins (5 doubles + 1 twin). All cabins have private bathrooms.
What meals are included?
Daily breakfast and lunch are prepared on board by our chef using fresh local ingredients. One special dinner is cooked at anchor, typically in a quiet bay. Most evenings you dine ashore at handpicked restaurants — Bonifacio, Porto Cervo, Maddalena. Dinners ashore (~€65 pp) and additional on-board dinners (~€75 pp) are not included.
What's the best time to sail Sardinia & Corsica?
June and September are our favourites — warm sea, calmer winds, fewer boats. July is peak season with the warmest weather and busiest anchorages. August has the warmest water of the year. The full season runs June through September.
How do payments work?
A 50% deposit secures your booking — we send a digital agreement and an invoice for direct bank transfer (preferred) or card. The balance is due 12 weeks before departure. For bookings more than 12 months in advance, we accept a 25% deposit now, a second 25% at the 12-month mark, and the balance at 12 weeks out. Wire transfers in EUR; cards available with a small processing fee.
Can I join as a solo traveller?
Yes — our hosted weeks are designed for exactly this. You join a small group of six to eight like-minded guests, founder-hosted by Vincent, with shared and private cabin options. Most guests arrive alone. From €3,300 per person, most meals included.
What wellness is included on a hosted week?
Three to four yoga sessions on secluded beaches, guided breathwork at anchor, and meditation are part of the week. The food is Blue Zone-inspired — pane carasau, fresh fish, vegetables from local farms, indigenous Sardinian wines. Everything is offered, nothing is mandatory.
Will I share a cabin?
You choose. Shared cabin pricing starts at €3,300 per person, with a same-gender cabin mate matched by us. Solo or couple-occupancy cabins are available at a premium — usually 30–50% more. Tell us what you want when you book.
What are the 2026 hosted dates?
One hosted Sardinia week remains in 2026 — September 5–12. Saturday-to-Saturday, eight guests max. Once it's booked, the next hosted Sardinia weeks open for 2027. Use "Check Availability" above to secure your spot.
What meals are included on a hosted week?
It's half board: daily breakfast and lunch are prepared on board by the onboard chef using fresh local ingredients. Most evenings you dine ashore at handpicked restaurants ashore in Maddalena, Cannigione, and the Haute Ville of Bonifacio (paid separately). Alcohol is available to purchase.
