Why Lefkada & the Ionian Islands

The Ionian sits west of mainland Greece — softer winds, shorter distances, and far quieter than the Cyclades. Our planned route runs from Lefkada Marina through Meganisi, Kalamos, Ithaca, Kefalonia and the small islets of Atokos and Kastos, mostly anchoring in fishing-village bays where most days you’ll see one or two other boats, not twenty.

Greek-Ionian food is simple and direct — fresh fish, lamb on the spit, salads with olive oil from the trees behind the taverna, paired with Robola wine from Kefalonia. Lefkada is connected to the mainland by a causeway, which means you can drive over from Athens or fly into Preveza, 30 minutes away.

Local Knowledge

From the Captain’s Seat

The Ionian is the sailing region I get asked about most — soft winds, short hops, fishing-village harbours where dinner is whatever came in that morning. We start hosting weeks here this August. One week, then we see.

The Journey

A Week at Sea

Each week adapts to your group, the wind, and what feels right. Here’s the rhythm we tend to follow.

Day 1

Embark · Lefkada Marina

You fly into Preveza (30 minutes away) and we’ll meet you at Lefkada Marina. Welcome aboard, into your cabin, a glass of something cold on deck. The chef opens with a welcome dinner at anchor — Greek cooking, fresh fish, vegetables from a working kitchen on the coast.

A Few Things to Know

How much does a private catamaran charter in Lefkada and the Ionian Islands cost?
A private crewed Lagoon 46 catamaran charter in Lefkada and the Ionian Islands with Sailing 2 Wellness starts from €19,000 per week for up to 8 guests — around €2,375 per person for a full group. The price includes a professional skipper, an onboard chef, daily breakfast and lunch, fuel, marina fees, and water toys. Larger boats: Bali 5.4 from €30,000 and Bali 5.8 from €35,000 for groups up to 12.
Can we customize the route?
Yes — every private charter is fully flexible. The planned 7-day route from Lefkada Marina through Meganisi, Kalamos, Ithaca, Kefalonia and Atokos / Kastos is the working spine — but we'll adapt each week to your group, the wind, and what feels right.
How many guests fit on each boat?
The Lagoon 46 sleeps up to 8 in 4 ensuite double cabins. The Bali 5.4 sleeps up to 12 in 6 cabins (4 doubles + a twin + a bunk). The Bali 5.8 sleeps up to 12 in 6 cabins (5 doubles + 1 twin). All cabins have private bathrooms.
What meals are included?
Daily breakfast and lunch are prepared on board by our chef using fresh local ingredients. One special dinner is cooked at anchor, typically in a quiet bay. Most evenings you dine ashore at family-run tavernas in Vathy on Ithaca, Fiskardo on Kefalonia, and Lefkada town. Dinners ashore (~€45 pp) and additional on-board dinners (~€75 pp) are not included.
What's the best time to sail Lefkada and the Ionian Islands?
June and September are our favourites — warm sea, calmer winds, fewer boats. July and August are peak with the warmest water and busiest harbours. The Ionian season runs May through October.
How do payments work?
A 50% deposit secures your booking — we send a digital agreement and an invoice for direct bank transfer (preferred) or card. The balance is due 12 weeks before departure. For bookings more than 12 months in advance, we accept a 25% deposit now, a second 25% at the 12-month mark, and the balance at 12 weeks out. Wire transfers in EUR; cards available with a small processing fee.
Why the Ionian and not the Cyclades or Dodecanese?
The Ionian sits west of mainland Greece — softer winds, shorter distances between islands, and far quieter than the Cyclades' tourist-heavy hubs. We sail Lefkada → Meganisi → Kalamos → Ithaca → Kefalonia, an arc of small fishing-village harbours where most days you'll anchor in a bay with no other charter boats.
Can I join as a solo traveller?
Yes — our hosted weeks are designed for exactly this. You join a small group of six to eight like-minded guests, founder-hosted by Vincent, with shared and private cabin options. Most guests arrive alone. From €3,300 per person, most meals included.
What wellness is included on a hosted week?
Three to four yoga sessions on secluded beaches, guided breathwork at anchor, and meditation are part of the week. The food is Greek and Mediterranean — fresh fish, vegetables from local growers, Ionian wines like Robola. Everything is offered, nothing is mandatory.
Will I share a cabin?
You choose. Shared cabin pricing starts at €3,300 per person, with a same-gender cabin mate matched by us. Solo or couple-occupancy cabins are available at a premium — usually 30–50% more. Tell us what you want when you book.
What are the 2026 hosted dates?
One hosted Lefkada week in 2026 — August 1–7. Saturday-to-Saturday, eight guests max. Once it's booked, the next hosted Greek weeks open for 2027. Use "Check Availability" above to secure your spot.
What meals are included on a hosted week?
It's half board: daily breakfast and lunch are prepared on board by the onboard chef using fresh local ingredients. Most evenings you dine ashore at handpicked tavernas ashore in Lefkada town, Vathy on Ithaca, and Fiskardo on Kefalonia (paid separately). Alcohol is available to purchase.
How do payments work?
A 50% deposit secures your spot — we send a booking agreement and an invoice for direct bank transfer (preferred) or card. The balance is due 12 weeks before departure. For early bookings (12+ months out), we accept a 25% deposit now, a second 25% at the 12-month mark, and the balance at 12 weeks out.
