Vallery - Nutritionist

Being close to the sea and feeling the wind in my face has always been an important factor for me to feel free. Growing up in a large multinational family, I got to know different cultures at an early age, also culinary. Especially Asian cuisine and thus the production of natural, especially vegan dishes, was taught to me. On our small farm at home, I learned which plants are harvested, sown and prepared at which time of year. Over the years I’ve continued my training in all types of restaurants and the catering industry have deepened my knowledge and understanding, as well as my interest in healthy and delicious food.

For me, an active lifestyle is all part of good nutrition and plays an important role to empower the body and mind. Whether it’s yoga, swimming, volleyball, surfing, running or skiing, I really love being outside in nature.

By founding Sailing2Wellness I wanted to combine the feeling of being free on the sea while focusing on well being. As a certified nutritionist, I want to educate people on the power of good food. Combining sports, well-being, healthy nutrition, surrounded by nature and maintaining balance are the basic concepts of wellness for me. This also translates into escaping from the hectic everyday life and bringing you closer to yourself.

This lifestyle keeps me healthy and makes me happy. I wish everyone can experience this, hence I am more than happy to share some of my knowledge during our sailing adventures.

Vincent - Captain

Everybody probably knows the expression “when you can make money with what you love to do, you won’t work another day in your life”. That is exactly how I started to live since I quite my corporate job at Nike in 2016. Started to listen very closely to my heart and focus on the things that truly make me happy in life and give me energy. Among them are travelling, kitesurfing, sailing, entrepreneurship and helping people.

I’ve started off with small projects that would test my entrepreneurial skills. Eventually combining two big passions by starting a travel company for kitesurfers in 2018. Organising all-inclusive package trips to Brazil, Madagascar and Oman. This company is named ‘Ultimate Downwinder’.

It didn’t scratch my itch completely, I was missing something. From a very young age I’ve been on the water with my parents and brothers. Whenever the right weather conditions were there, we would take the sailboat out and sail on the lake in front of our house. The feeling you get when sliding over the water using a natural element is amazing. It brings you into meditative state and calms the soul. This is what I wanted to integrate in the Sailing2Wellness experience.

Personal growth has played an important role in my life as well. Reading self-help books and listing to inspiring podcasts are part of my weekly routine. The exercises and rituals provided me with balance during the most challenging chapters in my life. I see them as an essential part of my personal development and made me a more grounded human being.

Vincent - Captain

As you might have guessed Vallery will be your chef on-board and Vincent will be your skipper during the sailing experience.

Both share the passion for an active and healthy lifestyle and love to be on the water. Sailing allows them to completely relax and connect with the natural elements. With Sailing2Wellness they want to share this feeling with you!

Gliding over the water, Vincent wants to explore the most hidden places. While you can sit back and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast and lunch from Vallery. The natural and functional ingredients will give you the right amount of energy throughout the day. Our daily wellness activities like yoga, group meditations, paddle boarding and hiking keep the blood pumping and bring you in the right state of mind.

And don’t worry if you speak a different language, between both of them they speak Dutch, German, English, French and Spanish.
